Coming out of a collection of classics from its last ownership, a retired oil and gas industry chemical engineer in Texas. After an impressive 18-year production run, the R107 concluded in 1989 with the 560SL, offered exclusively to select export markets. Powered by a robust 5.6-liter V8 producing 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque, the 560SL delivered a balance of stately cruising and capable performance, all wrapped in one of Mercedes-Benz’s most enduring and recognizable designs. With its tasteful Arctic White finish and enduring appeal, this 560SL stands as a fitting tribute to one of the most successful grand touring cars in Mercedes-Benz history.
The last 2 ownership hands kept superb records and diligently serviced the vehicle.
The paint shines with excellent depth and gloss and remains highly original. The chrome is in nice shape and all glass is original.
The grey leather interior is in wonderful shape. There are no cracks on the original dashpad. A proper interior refurbishment was completed by the last 2 ownership hands including brand new door cards and OEM leather seat cover replacements with the correct grain, pleats, piping and perforations. The trim shop executed the install perfectly. All carpet inside is very clean and nice. 2 newer black Lloyds floor mats lay in the front bulkhead. A black German Canvas replacement soft top was installed about 5 years ago and shows in excellent condition with crystal clear glass.
We restored the factory finish 15 inch gullideckel wheels to like new condition and installed brand new correctly sized 205 65 15 tires.
Wonderful drive quality as expected on an example that has been well looked after and is now ready in turn key condition.
